Where it started

Don Smith started Pump Hire in 2004, initially with a small range of Diesel Surface Pumps and quickly expanded into high-capacity Diesel Powered Pump sets.

Ever since he founded the company, he has always maintained a ‘can-do’ attitude towards new challenges. His main focus has always been on complete project management and good customer relationships.

Where we are now

The company has since grown over the years with increased resources. It now has branches spread over the North & South Island with branches located in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. Each Depot is led by excellent people who share Don’s passion for pumps and deliver a high-quality service putting their customers first. Our ever growing teams are now backed with experts from different parts of the world speaking over 5 different languages within the company.

We collaborate with local businesses to procure a wide range of supplies, including hoses and spare parts.

Pump Hire is not limited to any specific pump brand, allowing us to provide an extensive selection of pump designs from highly regarded manufacturers.
